I want to share with you the following personal growth tip I read in a book by John C. Maxwell,  The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth. Many people have a dream, however most do not pursue it. Why? Most people choose comfort, safety, and familiarity over growing as a person to reach their fullest potential. We easily fall into daily habits, doing the same things every day, doing them the same way, and getting the same results. Unfortunately, living in your comfort zone leads to mediocrity. How can you reach your potential if you do not have the courage to leave your comfort zone?

Remember our situation in life is due to the choices we make and the actions we take – or fail to take. You can choose to change, grow, and take a new path at any time, but you cannot grow and improve without change. To grow and reach your potential you must be willing to let your present and future be different than your past. You must be willing to face your fears and take risks. The greatest growth lessons in life come from getting outside your comfort zone and doing what you have never done.

When we stop stretching outside of our comfort zone is when we stop growing as a person. When you start performing new tasks you never imagined you were capable of doing, you start seeing what you can become. Moving forward to encounter new and unknown experiences will fill you with energy, placing you on a path to personal growth.

“It’s never too late to be what you might have been.” –  George Elliot
